Dr. John Chirban, Ph.D, Th.D, has helped many learn what it takes to create a genuine life through periods of both hardship and success, to live more openly, honestly, and fully. Decades of clinical practice were recently condensed into the guidebook True Coming of Age, which describes how to experience the depth of authentic living through cultivating your own innate gifts and taking possession of your life.

As Director of the Institute of Medicine, Psychology, and Religion in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dr. Chirban guides projects that integrate these fields, providing groundwork for his lectures and writings. Among current projects is an exploration of the philosophy and religion of B.F. Skinner, with whom Dr. Chirban worked for 25 years and collected hundreds of hours of interviews.

Dr. Chirban also serves as clinical instructor in psychology at Harvard Medical School and The Cambridge Hospital, teaching courses in spirituality, psychiatry, and an integrative treatment of sexuality and sexual dysfunction. He also serves as professor of psychology and Chairman of the Department of Human Development at Hellenic College and Holy Cross School of Theology.

In 2003, he was named 40th Anniversary Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of World Religions at Harvard University. He directs Cambridge Counseling Associates, LLP, a full-service psychotherapy practice in Massachusetts. The Chirbans reside in Carlisle, Massachusetts with their three children -- Alexis Georgia, Anthony Thomas, and Ariana Maria.
